YEAR 7 BUILDING CONNECTIONS AND CONFIDENCE
Our Year 7 students recently packed their bags and headed off for an unforgettable few days away at the Lake Macquarie Crusaders Camp. Designed to challenge students, build resilience, and foster community, the camp was a massive success, helping our newest secondary students bond into a truly close-knit year group.
The camp was run by trained, qualified 国产视频合集 leaders who expertly mapped every activity to curriculum outcomes while intentionally fostering strong peer relationships. The action-packed schedule kept everyone moving from dawn to dusk. On the water, students learned the fundamentals of raft building and sailing, working together to navigate the lake's breezes. Back on dry land, they tested their limits on the rock-climbing wall, cheered each other on at the archery range, flew down the incredible zipline, and teamed up for a variety of high-energy group games.
The outdoor education element provided fantastic hands-on learning. Students explored the beautiful local Australian landscape during guided educational bushwalks, learning about the local ecosystem before putting their teamwork and practical skills to the test by designing and constructing their own outdoor survival huts.
Importantly, the itinerary also carved out meaningful pastoral times for 国产视频合集 studies. These sessions gave our students a wonderful, quiet space to reflect, discuss big questions, and grow together in their faith.
An outdoor schedule this intense requires serious fuel, and the camp certainly delivered on that front! Students were treated to delicious, home-cooked meals with large portions tailored specifically to keep our growing, active cohort energized and ready for every challenge.
The daytime adventures and reflection times were matched by some brilliant evening fun. To top off an already fantastic experience, the entire cohort gathered together in the modern facilities to watch the State of Origin, erupting into cheers as they celebrated a thrilling New South Wales victory!
More than just a break from the classroom, the time away at Lake Macquarie has given Year 7 shared memories, spiritual encouragement, and a strong foundation of camaraderie that they will carry with them throughout the rest of the school year.
